For today, Tuesday July 20, 2010
Outside my window…looks like the rain has ended and it’s shaping up to be a beautiful day.
I am thinking…it’s hard to believe my baby is three years old today.
I am thankful for…that rowdy little three-year-old and her big sister who turns five tomorrow.
From the kitchen…we’re having friends visit this evening and I’m going to make some spaghetti, garlic bread and Caesar salad. One of my favorite meals and something everyone likes!
I am wearing…a black jersey sundress.
I am creating…nothing outside of the creative work I get paid to do. That has to change at some point soon.
I am going…to capital city to shop for the big birthday party this weekend. I ordered a cool gift for the girls which won’t be here in time so I have to buy more stuff. *sigh*
I am reading…Heart of the Matter by Emily Giffin and Bright Shiny Morning by James Frey. I have one upstairs and one downstairs! I can not put Bright Shiny Morning down. Not a big surprise, though. I loved Frey’s first two novels. This one is every bit as good as A Million Little Pieces. I know, I know, that wasn’t a “real” memoir but guess what? I read for entertainment and I don’t care. I love his writing
I am hoping…that traffic in the city won’t be too terrible today and that I find what I need quickly so I can get back home early enough to tackle my work.
I am hearing…the girls scream at each other over a shoe. (This would not happen with little boys, would it?)
Around the house…nothing to be embarrassed about at the moment if someone were to drop by unannounced. That will all change by noon I’m sure.
One of my favorite things…early morning hugs from tiny girls.
A few plans for the rest of the week: Hmmm…shopping and dinner guests today, brother visiting tomorrow, lunch with girlfriends Friday, double birthday party Saturday, Sunday will be a recovery day.
Here is picture for thought I am sharing…Casey will be five years old tomorrow. The other evening she was reading some flash cards and wanted to make a sentence using the words “just” and “was” so she did. This is the first thing she has actually sat down and written (I had to help with the 2 ‘e’s in teeth). I’m so proud of her!
The Simple Woman’s Daybook originated here if you’d like to participate next Tuesday!

I cannot believe these little ones are going to be 3 & 5…. then again, I cannot believe that you & your sister are old enough to be married with 2 babies! Sure making Uncle Darrell feel old. I remember when you two were babies, seems like yesterday
That little girl just blows me away! Happy brithday girls!
Wow, that’s awesome for your little girl to be able to print out a sentence! She’s going to LOVE school. I’m going to start the books you loaned me soon – can’t wait!
